West Shady Side Civic Association Spring Cleanup
  • Where: Shady Side Ball Field
  • When: Saturday April 28, 2007 Meet at 9:30
  • Purpose: Remove trash from roadsides of:

    • - Ford Rd
    • - Nieman Rd
    • - McDonald Rd
    • - Linton La
    • - Bast La
    • - Griner La
    • - Hayes Rd

General Info: Trash bags will be provided. Rain (unless pouring) or Shine. Experience says wear boots and gloves. For questions contact John Wayshner at (410) 867-6919.

Mosquito Spraying for the 2007 summer season
Tuesdays and Thursdays
As a result of one of our association meetings, we asked to be included in the county mosquito control program.
"The Community of West Shady Side will be monitored for adult mosquitoes every Tuesday and Thursday evening (6-11PM). If the field inspector gets a landing rate count of 1 mosquito in 1 minute or a light trap count of 10 female mosquitoes a night, the community will be treated (ULV spray application) for adult mosquitoes at that time."

Residents can request an exemption from adult mosquito control services in writing by applying to Program Supervisor, Mosquito Control Section, 50 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401. More information should be available at 410.841.5870. If public health is threatened by mosquito-borne disease, the full range of mosquito control procedures will be applied to the area impacted even if there are objectors.
